Slab pressing method: the mainstream standardized process
The slab pressing method is the mainstream standardized process, simple and direct: under high pressure and vacuum, raw materials are pressed directly into thin slabs of 10–30 mm, then cured and polished. In short, the pressing method is “making thin slabs directly”.
Its core advantage is high production efficiency and low cost, suitable for large-scale standardized production. But it can only produce thin slabs with fixed thickness, unable to achieve thick blocks or three-dimensional shaping; it applies only to flat decoration, at most simple chamfering and edge polishing. Complex shapes can only be achieved by bonding multiple slabs together, with visible joints and a compromised overall look — far from a seamless natural effect.
Block method: replicating the production logic of natural stone
The block method replicates the production logic of natural stone: the mixed materials are first vacuumed, vibration-pressed and cast into giant blocks several metres across; after curing, they are cut with gang saws into slabs of the required thickness, then polished and finished. In other words: “first make a big stone, then cut it into slabs”.
This process produces “stone with volume” that can be sculpted three-dimensionally and shaped in curves like natural marble. Whether Roman columns, bespoke vanity units, relief sculptures or curved feature walls, everything can be carved directly from one block — no joints, no seams, monolithic forms that faithfully reproduce the three-dimensional aesthetics of natural stone.

Slab pressing method
The texture of pressed slabs is mostly precisely controlled and repeated by the machine dispensing system, appearing highly uniform — even batch-repeated. Once grooved or chamfered, the side texture looks stiff and disconnected from the surface, with the “imitation” clearly visible. At the same time, extreme standardization produces highly identical patterns — a “thousand slabs, one face” effect. Despite high efficiency, it struggles to hide the rigidity of industrialization and lacks natural, lively character.
Block method
The block method achieves true through-body texture. During casting, aggregates and colour paste are randomly distributed and naturally fused; the texture flows naturally from inside to outside — no fixed pattern, no repeated templates, so every slab is unique. Whether cut, chamfered or carved, every freshly exposed face is coordinated and consistent. Slabs cut from the same block vary in texture density and grain distribution, carrying the surprise of natural variation.
